Protecting young eyes: Polaroid Eyewear’s commitment to kids’ vision
Children’s vision is essential for how they explore, learn and grow. Polaroid Eyewear supports families with the tools to protect it from an early age.
There’s still a lack of awareness
According to a 2024 survey by Polaroid Eyewear in collaboration with FattoreMamma, 95% of parents feel they lack information about the risks of sun exposure on children’s eyes.
This highlights the need for more accessible, everyday eye care guidance. Starting from this insight, Polaroid Eyewear has developed educational initiatives to support families with simple, practical habits.
From awareness to action
Over the years, Polaroid Eyewear has developed a range of initiatives to actively promote children’s eye health.
Partnership with Fattore Mamma
To better understand parents’ awareness of children’s eye health, Polaroid Eyewear partnered with FattoreMamma, an Italian platform dedicated to supporting and engaging families, on a survey targeting parents with children aged 2+.
With over 3,000 responses, it revealed a clear insight: 95% of parents feel they lack information about the risks of sun exposure on children’s eyes. The findings were shared via an infographic and expert-led live sessions, reaching over 46,000 views on Facebook.
A second Instagram live with a pediatric ophthalmologist followed, generating over 16,000 views and further increasing awareness among families.
Educational Content & Webinars
Building on this effort, Polaroid Eyewear developed, alongside Fattore Mamma, a structured educational program called "Futuro in vista", designed to make eye care more accessible and practical for families.
This included:
- Two live webinars featuring pediatric specialists such as La Dottoressa dei Bambini
- Educational content created in collaboration with doctors and professionals
- Simple, easy-to-understand formats designed to explain prevention and daily habits
These initiatives were designed to guide families step by step, helping them build awareness and adopt healthier behaviors over time.
ATP Kids Day – Rome
During the ATP events in Rome in 2025 and 2026 , Polaroid Eyewear engaged families through Kids Day activations, creating a direct connection with parents and children.
A dedicated educational flyer was distributed, outlining “the winning strategy for children’s eye health” in six simple points, providing clear and practical advice.
This initiative combined sport and education, reaching families in a dynamic, real-life environment.
Fondazione Veronesi Partnership
Polaroid Eyewear collaborates with Fondazione Umberto Veronesi to support both scientific research and the dissemination of eye health knowledge.
This partnership includes:
- The development of educational materials, such as the Eye Health white paper
- Support for research projects, including studies on eye diseases such as uveal melanoma
- Ongoing efforts to raise awareness through accessible, science-based content
This collaboration reflects a long-term commitment to improving understanding and prevention, with a positive impact that extends to future generations.
