POLAROID FOR KIDS: A WORLD OF COLORS FOR CHILDREN

Children, more than anyone else, have the ability to paint our days with bright and joyful tones. That’s why we are committed to ensuring they, too, can enjoy clear, protected, and colorful vision.

Safilo, together with Polaroid Eyewear, is a global partner of LOVE YOUR EYES 2024, a worldwide campaign promoted by IAPB with the goal of providing access to essential eye care for everyone by 2030.

IAPB (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness) is a leading global non-governmental organization dedicated to advocating for eye health. It strives to ensure universal access to eye care services and coordinates awareness campaigns and prevention programs.

As part of World Sight Day on October 10, 2024, Love Your Eyes aims to teach children around the world how to take care of their eyes and feel free from any social stigma associated with wearing glasses or other corrective treatments. Since its launch in 2021, the campaign has encouraged over 20 million people to prioritize eye health.

For this reason, children and parents are invited to join the #LoveYourEyes campaign by having an eye check-up.

LOOKING TOWARDS THEIR FUTURE WITH THE UMBERTO VERONESI FOUNDATION

The Umberto Veronesi Foundation was established in 2003 by Professor Umberto Veronesi with the goal of promoting scientific progress. Its mission focuses on two key areas: funding excellence in scientific research and sharing knowledge to ensure scientific discoveries become accessible to everyone.

In collaboration with Polaroid Eyewear, the foundation has developed a document that outlines the most common vision problems, including those affecting children, and provides guidelines to prevent them. These range from adopting a healthy diet to choosing the most suitable lenses.

MEETINGS WITH FATTOREMAMMA FOR A CLEARER VISION

FattoreMamma is the leading platform in Italy for creating content with parents and for parents. Every day, it connects and concretely supports a community of thousands of mothers online: for this reason, Polaroid Eyewear chose it for a project based on participation. 

Starting from two surveys developed collaboratively, we identified the topics that are most relevant to mothers regarding children's vision issues. The first survey, conducted in 2023, aimed to investigate families' awareness and vision prevention in preschool and school-age children. The second, carried out in 2024, focused on the prevention of children's eye damage caused by exposure to sunlight. 

This project brought together mother influencers and experts to clarify issues related to eye care and prevention, creating online content accessible to everyone.
